Naval Construction Battalion Center is a 1,acre ha U. Navy industrial complex located in Gulfport, Mississippi. To maintain and operate facilities and provide services and material in support of Naval Construction Force Units, to include Amphibious Construction Fleet Units, the Maritime Prepositioning Force Enhancedand other fleet and ased organizational units deployed from or homeported at CBC Gulfport, and to perform such other functions and tasks as may be ased by higher authority. Gulfport had the necessary port facility, as well as a semi-tropical climate for year-round training and shipping.
Like many bases in the US, Keesler can trace its origins to World War II when it was established as an Army Air Corps Station for basic training as well as technical aircrew training and special flying training. The base again supported the buildup of training during the Korean War and, during the Vietnam War, began to shift away from flying training to more technology-based technical training.

Blvd Biloxi, MS Whether you are doing a Do it yourself DITY or government move with a moving company, PPPO will organize all aspects of your move and is where you will submit your claim for reimbursement for the move. All visitors must have a valid military ID or proceed to the visitor control center for a pass. Due to current COVID measures, be sure to show your IDs with the barcodes facing the guard so that they may scan them without touching them.
Pass information and entry requirements can be found here. All permanent party personnel will check-in at their ased unit. If arriving on weekends or after hours, the official check-in point is Tyler House. Report to the Visitors Center at White Gate to be directed by the guard. Contact your sponsor and report to your unit at the ased time in the proper uniform.
You will then need to file your travel claims at PPPO and for housing unless living off-base. All newcomers receive a welcome brief which is held monthly. All in-processing is accomplished by the Student Personnel Center in the Levitow Building upon arrival. Walk-ins are welcome between Monday through Thursday.
Appointments only and Fridays. Pick up groceries, dine, and shop in the department store-style exchanges located conveniently on base.
Get your letters and packages delivered where they need to go properly and on time with the help of the Keesler AFB Post Office. The Finance Office offers financial help to all service members and their families.

It sits between the communities of GulfportBiloxiand Ocean Springs. It is a very short commute from Biloxi less than three miles. The base is surrounded by the major freeway, the I as well as Highway 90 making the commute quick from any direction.
With a population of around 17, this community is about two miles east of Biloxi.
A town of 45, residents, it is the seat of Harrison County and the third largest city in the state. It is located just three miles from the base making the commute very easy and popular with military families. The second-largest city in Mississippi with a population of 71, it is just 14 miles to base.
Besides the Air Force Base, there is a sizable Navy presence as well making it a very military-friendly town. As there are no DoD schools on base, students who live on the base will attend school in the Biloxi Public School District. The weather in Biloxi is typical of the deep south and the Gulf Coast. The summers are long, hot, and humid while the winters are cold and windy. Summer lows are in the low 70s while highs are in the high 80s with very high humidity and the chance of rain from June through September.
Fall lows are in the 50s and highs in the 70s. The winters are windy with brisk breezes off the water.
The lows are in the mids and highs in the high 50s. Spring lows are in the 60s and highs in the high 70s. The Gulf Coast beaches are great for water sport and lounging during the warmer months. There is very little surf but the fishing is abundant.
How to apply
The water is shallow and great for wading and children. The beaches have fine white sand and blue water that is beautiful on a hot, sunny day. The big attractions in the Biloxi area are the resort casinos. For live music and events, you can check out the Beau Rivage Theater. A must-visit place for crab cakes, gumbo, seafood platters, oysters, and quality drinks.
Another excellent seafood shack for giant shrimp, crab legs, gumbo, steaks, and lunch specials. With both traditional cajun and French foodthere are plenty of options.
